After the Manifest race we caught the competitive bug. We decided to up the ante and ride  the 2 day, 204 mile  Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic. We applied all the lessons learned from Manifest but refused to sacrifice ride quality or cargo capacity in our new and improved racing specs. The bikes owner, Aaron Hulme, finished the race in just under 20 hours over the 2 days with a very Metrofiets-esk collection of necessities. A few items of note were a case of Pilsner, Socks, and a very Portland picnic lunch. The bike now lives a charmed life hauling flowers, beer, and pretzels to adoring fans, with the occasional weekend climb over Mt. Tam on it’s way to the Muir woods. If you’re around SF you can admire the bike at the restaurant as you sip a “boot of beer” and nosh on the best German food in the city.
